CLINICAL ASSOCIATIONS

Mitogen’s Anti‐p140/p155/TRIM28 assay is an exclusive autoimmune diagnostic test that detects autoantibodies to p140/p155/TRIM28. Anti-p140/155/TRIM28 antibodies are a reported biomarker for juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) with a sensitivity of ~35%. They are significantly associated with an elevated ESR and a younger age at diagnosis. TRIM28 (tripartite motif-containing 28 OR transcriptional intermediary factor 1β TIF1β) is a protein that mediates RNA transcription by interaction with the Krüppel-associated box repression domain found in many transcription factors. The protein localizes to the nucleus and is thought to associate with specific chromatin regions.
